OPEN MEETINGS/OPEN RECORDS TRAINING INFORMATION
A law enacted during the 2025 legislative session requires all newly elected officials and individuals appointed to governmental bodies to complete training on Iowa’s Open Meetings and Open Records Laws. This training is open to all elected and appointed officials, not just those who are newly elected, and we invite anyone interested in the course to attend.
ISAC is an approved trainer by the Iowa Public Information Board to provide open meetings and open records training, as required by Iowa H.F. 706 for all newly elected and appointed officials after July 1, 2025. The training must be completed within 90 days of taking the oath of office or assuming the duties of the position. The purpose of the training is to ensure public officials understand their responsibilities and obligations under Iowa’s open meetings and open records laws, promoting transparency and accountability in government.
For questions about the training please contact ISAC Support at the email below or by calling 515.244.7181.
