Research Engineer

The Iowa County Engineers Association seeks  an individual to serve as statewide Secondary Roads Research Engineer.    The SRRE will oversee, administer, coordinate, assist, guide, shape and disseminate secondary road research work in association with Iowa’s 99 county road departments.   Will also work closely with Iowa Dept. of Transportation Office of Research.   Frequent overnight travel and licensure as a professional engineer in the State of Iowa required.  Worksite will be in Ames, Iowa.  This job offers a high degree of independence and self-direction while working with practicing engineers, academic researchers and private sector representatives to find better materials, methods and tools for road and bridge work.  The work will be part engineering, part teaching, part field work, and part office work and conference participation.  Contact Steve De Vries, P.E., Executive Director, Iowa County Engineers Association Service Bureau, 5500 Westown Pkwy #190, West Des Moines, IA, 50266 to obtain detailed job description.   steve@iceasb.org     515-244-0779    Applications accepted through August 22, 2016 Equal Opportunity Employer.
