Since 1981, ISAC has partnered with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield to offer Iowa Counties a comprehensive health insurance program. The ISAC Group Health Program consists of 26 counties and covers roughly 5,500 individuals. The pool has many different plan designs which allows flexibility for your county when it comes to health insurance options and costs. Whether you are looking for a Traditional plan, a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), or a Partial Self-Funded plan, we can meet your needs.
ISAC has teamed with Group Benefit Partners to provide county-level benefits consulting. Group Benefit Partners is a licensed independent broker located in West Des Moines, Iowa (with additional offices across the state) specializing in employee benefits consulting. GBP can assist your county in designing an economical and comprehensive health plan for your employees. They are licensed to quote stand-alone options with health insurance carriers across the state, and are the only broker authorized to quote the ISAC Group Health Program.
The pool also offers additional benefits paid by the pool; such as:
Exclusive Wellness Program including discounted premiums and employee incentives
Expedited release of renewal rates (approximately 180 days prior to renewal)
Comprehensive Benefit Enrollment Platform
Off-the-job Accident Insurance including AD&D (ISAC-paid premiums for employee-only coverage)
Consolidated Billing for all ISAC Group Program products
COBRA administration
**Assistance with plan design is provided by Group Benefit Partners and if you are insured through the Iowa State Association of Counties Group Health Program, the broker fees are paid by the program.
