EEOC Issues New ADA Guide for Employers

On September 22, 2008, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a question-and-answer guide to help employers, including counties, better understand the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act in a variety of situations.

The guide clarifies, for instance, that employers can apply the same performance standards to all employees, including those with disabilities. It also reinforces that hat employers can enact basic conduct standards for all employees, including those with disabilities.
