ISAC Scholarships

Deadline for entries is December 9, 2016. Scholarships will be awarded during the Spring School General Session on March 9, 2017.

In 2016, ISAC awarded six $2,500 scholarships, six $1,000 scholarships, and one $2,500 past president scholarship. The scholarships go to high school seniors who are the children of county officials and county employees. ISAC has had a scholarship program for about 18 years. ISAC’s technology affiliate, Iowa Counties Information Technology Organization, also awarded two $1,000 scholarships in 2015 to high school seniors interested in studying technology in college. All of the scholarship winners are recognized at a ceremony that takes place every year as part of the business meeting at the ISAC Spring School. The ISAC $2,500 scholarship winners and the ICIT Scholarship winners for 2016 are as follows:

The ISAC Scholarship applications are distributed and posted on the ISAC website in early September, and then a copy appears in the ISAC magazine. Applications are always due in mid-December. We usually get between 90 and 100 applications. The scholarships are funded by the ISAC Education Foundation. A large part of the funds are gained from the annual ISAC Scholarship Golf Fundraiser. The 2016 ISAC Scholarship Golf Fundraiser was held at the Toad Valley Golf Course in Pleasant Hill on August 31, 2016.
