Iowa Citizens' Aide/Ombudsman's Office - The What, Why and How

The Ombudsman's Office is charged with investigating complaints about most Iowa state and local government agencies. This overview will explain the role of an ombudsman and the office's statutory authority, how it functions, and how it can assist with complaints, questions and concerns from citizens and government agencies. The speaker will also share examples of county-related complaints and offer advice on how to resolve an issue with a citizen before it becomes a complaint to the Ombudsman’s Office.
