Managing Over Doers and Don’t Doers
Speaker: James Werbel - Faculty, Iowa State University

There are two broad categories of difficult employees to manage.  There are over-doers who actively engage in difficult behavior.  These include people such as the cynics, critics, and bullies. There are under-doers.  These include quiet resistors to change, breakers of promises, and underperformers.  This presentation will explore the types of problems with these employees. It will then focus on one type of employee and explore different ways to manage that employee.

Professor James Werbel is a professor of Management and the Bill and Liz Goodwin Fellow at the College of Business at Iowa State University.  Professor Werbel received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 1980.  His expertise is in the area of Human Resources, Leadership, and Ethics.  He has conducted seminars in China, Hong Kong, Portugal, France, and Hungary.  He has published over 50 articles and book chapters in professional and academic outlets.
