Iowa State Association of Counties
2010 Spring School of Instruction
March 24-25, 2010
Des Moines Marriott Downtown and Renaissance Savery
Des Moines, Iowa

What is the Spring School of Instruction?
This annual meeting held in March is the Association’s business meeting, where the ISAC budget is approved by the membership and the ISAC Scholarship award winners are recognized.

Who attends the Spring School of Instruction?
The conference is open to county officials from all departments, which are known as affiliates. This includes county assessors, attorneys, auditors, conservation directors, emergency management directors, engineers, environmental health specialists, information technology directors, public health, recorders, community services directors, sheriffs, supervisors, treasurers, and zoning officials. There will be approximately 800 county officials attending the conference.

Why should your company be involved?
ISAC members make or are heavily involved in most of the purchase decisions and contracts counties enter into with private sector businesses. Because ISAC is a focal point for county government officials, there are tremendous opportunities for private sector businesses to promote their services to 800 key decision makers in Iowa’s county governments.

Attend this conference and talk with the specialty target audience for your company’s marketing efforts - county officials in Iowa. This is one of our largest events of the year and we want you to be a part of it! ISAC offers you a few ways to be involved: 1) be a conference event sponsor; 2) advertise in the conference program; and 3) attend the conference in person.

Where will the conference be held?
ISAC will again use conference facilities at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown. Conference registration, educational seminars, general session, and some sponsored events will be held at the Marriott. The Renaissance Savery will be used for additional meeting space for the affiliates and for the ISAC dance. Additional hotel rooms are reserved at the Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn Downtown.

Where can I park?
Downtown Des Moines Marriott

When you arrive at the Marriott, your best options would be to park at the 7th Street & Grand parking ramp or the valet parking lot at the Marriott. At the Marriott, you can pull into the hotel parking lot to check in and drop off items before going to the parking ramp. A freight elevator at Marriott allows exhibitors to have direct access to the Exhibit Hall. To use the elevator pull into the main entrance and ask the valet for assistance.

Renaissance Savery
Upon arrival at the Renaissance Savery Hotel, the best option may be the city garage located across from the 4th street entrance to the hotel.  To enter the garage you may enter from either Grand Avenue (heading west) the entrance is directly before 4th street.  Or the other entrance is located directly on 4th street.  The entrance is located on the East side of the road.  The Renaissance Savery Hotel also offers valet parking.  The hotel valet is limited to a specific number of spots and is on a first come, first served basis.
