ISAC Fall School of
Instruction
November 28-30, 2012
Veterans Memorial Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center
Des Moines, Iowa
Books for Blank
2012 ISAC Fall School
Community Service Project
ISAC is excited to be hosting the “Books for Blank” community
project during the 2012 Fall School of Instruction. ISAC encourages
conference attendees to donate new children’s books to support the
literacy programs at Blank Children’s Hospital in downtown Des
Moines. Blank Children’s Hospital gives more than 16,000 books a
year to its patients and families and
is completely dedicated to meeting the unique healthcare needs of
children.
There will be a book drop-off area near the ISAC registration area
at Veterans Memorial
Community Choice Credit
Union Convention Center during the fall school. Donations of
NEW, developmentally and culturally appropriate books will be
accepted. The primary need is for books for children from toddlers
to middle school, although books for older children are also needed.
Please, no books about sensitive issues like divorce, abuse or
death. Donations will also be accepted at the drop-off area near
ISAC registration. If you have any
questions about the Books for Blank community project, please
contact
ISAC at 515.244.7181 or speak with an ISAC staff members at the
conference registration desk.
Donation results will be published in the
Iowa County
magazine.
Thanks in advance for your participation
and support! For more information about Blank Children’s Hospital,

THANK YOU!
A HUGE thank you goes out to all Books for Blank donors - see below.
The ISAC community service project was a huge success collecting
over 200 new children’s books and over $300 in cash donations made
at the conference. ISAC staff dropped off the books and a check to
Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, and they were very thankful
for the extremely generous donation. We hope to continue a similar
tradition in the future. We apologize in advance if we missed any
names.
