Inside ISAC Government Relations
End of Week Two
The first two weeks have
come and gone. The Legislature has been in session for only seven
days with three days being taken up to a great degree by addresses
by Governor Branstad, Chief Justice Mark Cady, and The National
Guard Adjutant General Timothy Orr. One hundred and eighty three
pieces of legislation have already been introduced including two
property tax reform bills and one TIF reform bill.
The
ISAC bill tracking tool tracks each piece of legislation.
Click here to access this tool. Please let
ISAC policy staff know if you see a bill of interest that we have
missed.
Remember to visit with your legislators at their forums and any
other opportunity that you get. And remember that March 1 is County
Day at the Capitol. As things are unfolding so far this year, there
will be plenty for county officials to discuss with their
legislators.
