Smart Planning Grant Funding
Iowa’s
smart planning legislation provides a $30 million appropriation to
cities and counties that implement smart planning principals, contingent
on approval by the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA). Counties interested in
applying should go to the
IJOBS web site.
Prior to completing an application, a Notice of Intent to Apply is
required. The Notice is due by July 24. According to the web site, IFA
will review each Notice and determine whether your proposed project is
eligible to apply for funds. You will then receive a password and link
to the actual online application. The deadline for the first round of
applications is August 2. Subsequent rounds, if any, will be at the
discretion of the board as funding is available.
