Labor Bills Introduced

Late on Thursday afternoon, the House Democrats introduced two labor bills, HSB 699 and HSB 702.  HSB 699 requires prevailing wage rates for persons working on public improvements UNLESS a political subdivision passes a resolution choosing not to use the prevailing wage. 

HSB 702 makes several changes to pubic employee collective bargaining.  The most controversial appears to be that executive branch employees will have to pay their “fair share” for services provided by the union that benefit them.
