ACTION NEEDED! LOST-TIF

Senate Majority leader Mike Gronstal, in response to a question posed at the statewide supervisors meeting on Thursday, suggested that he was open to amending the LOST-TIF to address county concerns, if those concerns are raised by the Senators in his caucus.  Please contact your Senators and express your concerns about LOST-TIF as currently allowed in Iowa law.  A compromise bill (HF 502) that allows for a reverse referendum and ensures that a city can only TIF their own LOST increment is in the Senate Local Government Committee and can move if Senator Gronstal agrees that it will be taken up on the floor.
