Special Elections in Disaster-affected Counties Bill Dies

HF 2516, a bill that would have allowed for special elections in disaster-affected counties and cities in addition to those already set in code, did not gain any traction and never made it out of committee before the legislative session ended last week.  There was concern expressed about allowing for more special elections after legislation was passed two years ago limiting the number of elections that cities, counties, and schools could hold.
