2010 Census Awareness Program Dear 2010 Census Awareness ICN Participant, Thank you for taking your time to learn more about the 2010 Census this past week during one of our Awareness ICN sessions! I hope you found the information presented to be informative and helpful in your efforts to encourage your community to participate in the 2010 Census. As mentioned during the conference, in order to get your Complete Count Committee and/or partnership with the US Census Bureau started, please fill out and sign a copy of the Partnership Agreement, and then either scan and email it to me, or fax it to my attention at (515) 237-8575. After receiving your agreement form, I will forward it onto the Partnership Specialist who is assigned to your geographical area. He or she will then be in touch with you. If you would like to contact your local Partnership Specialist directly with questions or for assistance, please find your county and respective Partnership Specialist's contact information on the attached excel spreadsheet "Iowa Partnership Specialists". At the bottom of the page you will find a summary sheet from the ICN conference, as well as Decorah's Complete Count Committee document that was shown during the program. Furthermore, the 2010 Census Awareness ICN conference was recorded and is available on DVD. To request a copy, please send your mailing address to Beth Henning or Gary Krob in the State Library's State Data Center program, at census@lib.state.ia.us . The US Census Bureau has a 2010 Census Web site with more information about the census, including downloadable logos, brochures, and drop-in articles for newsletters, at http://2010.census.gov/2010census/ . For more information specifically regarding Complete Count Committees, please visit http://2010.census.gov/partners/national-complete-count-committee/ . In response to a question about 2000 census response rates, Beth Henning says you can find county, city, and census tract response rates on the Census Bureau’s Web site at http://www.census.gov/dmd/www/response/2000response.html . If you are looking for census statistics about your community you may visit the State Data Center’s Web site at www.iowadatacenter.org or the American FactFinder at http://factfinder.census.gov . If you need help navigating these sites, contact Beth Henning or Gary Krob for assistance. Again, their e-mail address is census@lib.state.ia.us and their toll-free number is 800-248-4483. Thank you once again for your participation in the 2010 Census Awareness ICN Conference. We look forward to partnering with you to ensure that everyone in Iowa is counted in 2010! Best Regards,
Wendi A. Muir, Senior Partnership Specialist
